IRCA meeting was held at the Mark Twain Hotel Conference Center downtown Peoria.

Mike Ebey, President of IRCA called the meeting to order, reviewed safety procedures
then turned discussion over to Rick Granados.

Rick was able to stop in briefly and go over a few important items we had been
working on. The proposed fish barrier in the Lemont area was discussed. Rick advised
there was a meeting on July 2 at the EPA Conference Center to discuss. Rick also
advised us that the Lt.Governor is forming a new group that he suggests the IRCA
get involved with so we can provide input into the system.
Rick, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to contribute to our group.

Mike Zerbonia advised there were no major lock closures for the summer planned.

Hardin Bridge is still scheduled to be closed August 18 thru August 31. Barges will
be able to be shuffled under bridge.

Beardstown RR bridge will have some 10 hour closures - dates to be advised.

Our special guest speaker was Christopher Bresia of MARC 2000. Chris has been working
with the ACOE for over 10 years. ACOE is scheduled to release a list of alternatives
in April 2004 to see if it is feasible to repair or build locks to ease river conjestion.
Thanks to Chris for joing us.

There will be barge education tours sponsered by MARC 2000 and the Illinois Corn Growers
the first week of August. LCDR Fish will advise schedule and I will post to the IRCA web site.

This meeting was well attended and we appreciate all participants.

Next Meeting will be September 9, 2003 in Chicago, IL.
