Subject: Bendway Wiers Construction- Vaucluse Bend

Jim Jeffords of the U. S. Army Corps Of Engineers- Memphis District advises that construction will soon commence on the proposed submerged bendway wier dikes at Vaucluse Bend on the Lower Mississippi River.

Although the exact date of commencement is yet to be determined, a target of 30' and falling on the Greenville Guage has been established as ideal.

The project will require periods of closure as well as use of a contact boat during this phase of construction.
