SPECIAL NOTICE TO NAVIGATION INTERESTS

Melvin Price Locks and Dam, Mississippi River,
UMR Mile 200.8

1. All navigation interests are advised that the St. Louis District has scheduled a lock closure for the main lock chamber at Melvin Price Locks and Dam for repairs to lift gate seals.

2. The main lock chamber will be closed from 0700 hours until 1700 hours on 21 December 2004. If repairs are not completed during this time period the lock chamber will open to traffic over night, closing again at 0700 hours until work is completed (not to exceed 1700 hours) on 22 December 2004.

3. During the times that the main lock chamber is closed, there will be no traffic passed as the auxiliary lock chamber is currently closed due to damages to the downstream miter gates.

4. All navigation interest should be alert for, and abide by, any special instructions that may be issued by the Lockmaster in conjunction with this closure.
