ITCS Memo # 2268

Lock and Dam No. 22, UMR Mile 301.2, will be closed to navigation on 27 June, 29 June, 1 July, 5 July and 7 July 2005 each day from 0700 to 1900. The closure is required to perform off shore soil borings upstream and downstream of the lock chamber. These borings are generally located in the path of Commercial cargo tows. Lockage of recreational craft will still be allowed and are required to approach and enter the lock chamber at no wake speed. Towboat operators are requested NOT to tie up on the guidewalls during this closure period.
