Subject: Up-date on Closure of Locks 27 Main Chamber
ITCS Memo # 2337

The closure of the main lock chamber, Locks No. 27 - Upper Mississippi River Mile 185.1, remains unchanged and will be from 0600 hours 3 January 2006 until 0600 hours 1 March 2006. The auxiliary lock chamber will remain open. Since the auxiliary lock is not equipped with tow haulage equipment, ARTCO will make a tug available to assist in double locking. Waiting tows must make arrangements with the onsite tug for lock assistance and charged accordingly.

RIAC had planned to hold a conference call this week to communicate some of the finalize details of the closure. Unfortunately, many attendees of the call are not available so, a conference call is now planned for Tuesday, January 3, 2006. An email will be sent Tuesday, to RIAC members who need to be involved in that call, with the time and phone number to call.
