ITCS Memo # 2417

Since the flows off of the Upper Miss are not going to hold steady, as was discussed on Friday's conference call, the STL river stage is going to fall much sooner than expected.
In order to give industry a chance to adjust to the loss of water the COE Water Control office-St. Louis will need to use up the extra water in pool 26 to hold the STL river stage around minus 0.5 until 0600 Monday, 8/14/06. At that time it will be necessary to begin closing gates at the dam Monday morning which will cause the ST. Louis stage to fall.
The STL stage is now expected be near -1.5 Tuesday and near -2.0 Wednesday, unless we get some drastically needed rain.
We will review the river conditions Monday morning and determine whether a conference call is necessary.
