Subject: High Water Update - IWW
ITCS Memo # 2455

The following water level information was taken from Rivergages.com.

There is still much water flowing into the IWW from the Des Plaines River, although less than flowed yesterday. We're currently on a downhill trend along the Upper IWW.

Water levels had crested at LaSalle by noon today.

The restrictions at Dresden Island Lock, regarding empty barges is no longer in effect.

There were similar restrictions at Marseilles for a short period but they also are no longer in effect.

Water levels are expected to fall below flood stage at Starved Rock by Dec 29.

The following provides information regarding the IWW below LaSalle:

Henry - Water levels are expected to reach flood stage on Dec 25, crest slightly above flood stage (0.3 feet) on Dec 27 and fall below flood stage Dec 28.

Peoria - Water levels are expected to reach flood stage on Dec 25 and crest approximately 1 foot above flood stage on Dec 28.

Peoria Lock - Water levels are expected to go over the lock walls on Dec 25 and crest at flood stage on Dec 28. No additional impacts to navigation are expected because the navigable pass is open over the wicket dam.

Beardstown - Water levels are currently 0.7 feet over flood stage and are expected to steadily rise over the next few days (forecasts currently do not go beyond Dec 29).

LaGrange Lock - Water levels are currently 3.5 feet over flat pool and are expected to steadily rise over the next few days (forecasts currently do not go beyond Dec 29). No additional impacts to navigation are expected because the navigable pass is open over the wicket dam.
