Subject: Emergency Gate Repair to Lock #25
ITCS Memo # 2638

All
The pins holding the lower gates to the wall at Lock #25 are working loose. At this time the lock is able to continue operations for a short period until the Hercules is deployed from the service base in St. Louis. The preliminary ETA for the repair crew and the Hercules to be on site is Monday March 31st. The estimated time of the closure is for 8 full days. A bulkhead has to be put in place, the gates removed then repair to the wall and pins can take place. This is the first notification and some information is sketchy regarding deployment of the Hercules and its availability at this time. The Corps is working on firming up mobilization and repair. When this is in place I will hold a RIAC conference to help communicate information as it comes available.
