The U.S. Corp of Engineers, Louisville District, has requested a meeting with industry users of McAlpine Locks to discuss transit protocol during the main lock closures for repairs scheduled from July 24 to August 29.

The meeting will be held on May 21st at the Federal Building, downtown Louisville, in room 709, to begin at 10:30am. The building is located on Martin Luther King, one block north of Broadway, between 6th and 7th.

This meeting is important because the closure is expected to cause very lengthy delays, and minutes saved or lost on every turn will effect all turns that follow. The Corps will have information on procedures and impact of past closures.
