OPERNOTICE # 1

MILE 21.6, HARDIN DRAWBRIDGE
The draw span is scheduled to remain in the closed to navigation position from 6:00 a.m. on August 18, 2003, until 6:00 p.m. on August 31, 2003. The navigation span will provide 25.4 feet of vertical clearance above the normal pool elevation when in the closed position. Barges will be able to pass under the bridge and temporary mooring pile clusters will be installed to assist the barge transits. Five clusters will be located upstream of the lift span, one on each side of the navigation channel 350’ and 800’ upstream of the lift span and the fifth will be along the right descending bank approximately 1,800 feet upstream of lift span. The sixth pile cluster will be located along the left descending bank approximately about 1,500 feet downstream of the lift span.
