RIBB was started as centralized way of communicating between Towing Companies, Coast Guard, Corps of Engineers and Individuals regarding the ever changing towing environment.
RIBB has no Towing Company or Government affiliations. It is a privately held and operated website.
Our main focus is to pull together links to information from various internet sites into one point and to distribute and archive ITCS and RIAC Memos as well as Coast Guard and Corps of Engineers Hot Topic Notes.

My name is Ray Seals. I worked for several years in the towing industry and even though I don't work on the river anymore. I consider the river industry part my life and part of the experiences that make me what I am today.
I use the money to pay for the server and the Internet connection. I also use the money to purchase additional software and tools need to improve the site.
On how I wish it was! Unfortunately hosting and servers take up 95% of the money from sponsorship.
It means that you believe that what we do is a good thing and that we should continue. Sponsoring is just a nicer way that asking for a donation.
Companies can sponsor the site. This means they get a banner ad that goes into a rotation on the front page of the site. It is a means of advertisement and a way to say they like the site and use it daily.
We receive about 1 million per year. That equates to about 450 visits per day and about 12,000 visits per month.
This is a person who wants to donate money to keep the site going. They get their name put on a special page thanking them for their contribution.
It will eventually go away.
